NORTHWICH ISOLATION SUPPORT GROUP
Supporting the people of Northwich during the COVID-19 Crisis
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Northwich Isolation Support Group has been formed from a group of volunteers who wanted to ensure nobody goes without in what is undoubtedly going to be a tough time for all. Northwich Isolation Group has been created by volunteers from existing community projects Northwich in Need, Cheshire Without Abuse*, Save a Life Cheshire and Northwich Baby Bank.
Northwich is a remarkable town, full of equally as remarkable people. When we pull together, difficult situations such as the one the world is currently faced with are made that little bit more bearable. We thank you in advance of any support you may be able to offer.
For any further information or questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

WHAT IS CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
As you are all undoubtedly aware by now, the world is in the midst of a global pandemic. It seems impossible to turn on your television or read a newspaper without the words Coronavirus or COVID-19 being one of the first things you see.
Coronavirus and more specifically, COVID-19 is a new strain of illness that can affect the lungs and airways. Because it is a new illness, it is not 100% clear how coronavirus is transmitted or how it is spread. However, similar diseases are spread via microscopic droplets that are emitted when a person coughs, allowing the microbes to be inhaled by a second person. It is widely believed that this is how COVID-19 too, has spread around the globe. A resilient virus, it can also survive outside the body, on hard surfaces for several days.
HOW CAN I HELP?
There are many ways that you can help during this time. As with anything which affects society in large numbers, it has the facility to bring out the absolute best in people. Northwich, as a whole, is pulling together to take care of its residents who are self-isolating during this crisis. As more and more homes are entering a state of isolation and with the increase of bulk buying emptying shelves at supermarkets, certain items are becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of. This is leaving certain members of society at risk of running out of much-needed essentials. From donating food, money to buy supplies, to volunteering a delivery service to those in isolation, there will certainly be a way you can help. Scroll down to find out more:
The key items needed are as follows:
Tinned meals (stew/ravioli/Bologna’s/curry etc)
Cereal/ Porridge oats
Tinned vegetables /Tinned tomatoes /Tinned Fruit/Jam
This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but anything that won’t spoil is hugely appreciated.
Please use the online referral form to let us know if you or someone you know requires help. This form is also used to let us know if you can offer your support in any way; any assistance is greatly received.

As mentioned above, as well as supplies, this group is also in need of volunteers and support to assist our local community. This includes printing and posting flyers to let those without internet access or proficiency know what we are doing and how to seek aid in their time of need.
Volunteers to distribute these flyers across a number of streets in the local area are both needed and appreciated. These flyer drops would be coordinated by our Community Liaison and Main Coordinator - Daniel Pender.
